Thank you for thistles! It comes at exactly the right time for me. I despise my bullshit job that exists only to allow large companies to make more money and farm data, under the guise of "science writing", and is going to be imminently replaced by AI. A meaningless job was what I needed when I left academia, completely burned out but now I can't stand it. I'm about to take a year career break to have a good long think about what I want to do with my life, cos it's definitely not this.
Wishing you the very best in finding employment which rewards you in the best of ways, either by aligning with what you hope for, or allowing you time and energy to pursue what matters to you most.
Not been to Denmark, but I have just returned from the Outer Hebrides…deserted beaches and much wildlife; a camera and a sketchbook…seeing it differently as a holidaymaker, of course, but it really does help clarify true priorities 🙂
Lovely stuff. I hope you find a way forward. The things I’ve done that have meant the most to me I haven’t earned anything from - my podcast, the app, various other side projects. I struggle with asking for paying subscribers on here too. Things feel purer to me, done for the love of them. Thank god I have an agent, I suppose, being so rubbish at capitalism. I’d starve otherwise.
