I find it too very hard to describe myself as I have many hobbies, interests, flaws and so on!
I love this, and your experience here. The first time I came here 16 years ago, I felt like I’d been lied to. This was former Yugoslavia?? That’s not what they taught us in our American schools. I love this country, the land, the critters, and the plants deep in my bones. We left America to raise our kids here for a reason. The culture is quite deep and proud, tied closely to the land and seasons. It’s a special, tolerant, kind country - I think largely because of those ties.
I appreciate your thoughts on the EU and place as a whole. As an expat, I struggle with that sense of who/what I am. But when I boil it down, I’m a woman, a mother, who loves walking through the woods and swimming in the sea.
